A continuación, el texto original de la comunicación a través de la cual Antonio Ferramosca, del Department of Management, Information and Production Engineering de la Universidad de Bérgamo, pone en conocimiento a la dirección de PROBIOL de esta novedad:
The University of Bergamo, with over 23,000 students and more than 500 lecturers, is a modern, public university characterised by a culturally stimulating environment where tomorrow's professionals meet established professors, lecturers, and researchers, interfacing with colleagues from national or international backgrounds. The University offers 17 three-year degree courses, 24 two-year degree courses (9 of which are delivered in English), 4 five-year single-cycle degree courses and 7 PhD courses.
The strengths of the University of Bergamo are:
- the wide range of academic programmes offered;
- the numerous facilities available to students;
- the flexibility in international exchanges of students and lecturers;
- the doctoral and higher education courses;
- the intense cultural exchange with the local area, enshrined in internships, work placements and post-graduate training courses.
The multidisciplinary research orientation puts the University of Bergamo at the forefront of innovation. Moreover, it shapes efforts to meet the most urgent social needs, including achieving sustainable environmental development, social inclusion, and gender equality.
Within such a complex educational framework are nine PhD courses in the following disciplinary areas:
- Economy
- Health and Longevity
- Engineering and Applied Sciences
- Management accounting and finance
- Human Sciences and Welfare Innovation
- Legal Studies
- Philological and linguistic studies on oral and written records
- Transcultural Studies in Humanities
- Technology, Innovation and Management
In 2022, the Italian Ministry of Universities and Research (MUR) started funding doctoral scholarships for innovative research involving local companies.
Also for 2023, the University of Bergamo will be able to activate doctoral scholarships with these characteristics, dedicated exclusively to innovative research doctorates, 50% co-funded by Italian companies, in response to the innovation needs of businesses.
Our proposal aims to involve graduates from your University in the selection process for the assignment of three-year PhD scholarships, which will start in the coming months.
We strongly believe that this can be an opportunity for both universities to:
- initiate and strengthen collaborations that could intensify research and, more generally, cultural exchanges on a broad scale, from the humanities and economics to the sciences and engineering;
- select graduates who, after a selective examination at our University, can pursue highly specialised training courses in Bergamo, in close contact with local companies.
